Rest and Restore: A Year of Reflection and Renewal in Kent
The Kent Group of the Janki Foundation has continued to provide a much-valued sanctuary for reflection and wellbeing through its series of one-day silent retreats, held under the theme Rest and Restore throughout 2025 and 2026.

Four retreats took place between October 2025 and July 2026. Each retreat combined inspiring talks, guided meditation and an extended period of silence, creating a peaceful space for participants to step back from the demands of daily life and reconnect with inner calm.
Following an introductory session and meditation, attendees spent three and a half hours in silence before gathering at the end of the day to share reflections and insights. The retreats have remained consistently popular, attracting between 15 and 20 participants, including both returning attendees and those experiencing the programme for the first time.
The success of the retreats has been supported by a dedicated team, whose work behind the scenes helps create a welcoming and nurturing environment.
Feedback from the April 2026 retreat captured the impact of the experience:
“The meditations in the magical environment helped me rest and restore.”
“Restorative, gentle, relaxing.”
“Magical, refreshing, recharging.”
“Lovely gentle start. A fabulous poem to meditate on.”
As the current series draws to a close, the Kent Group is looking forward to introducing a new theme that will bring fresh inspiration and energy to next year’s programme and future retreats.
