The Values in Healthcare Association of South Africa (VIHASA) will be conducting it’s second South African facilitators’ training of the ‘Values in Healthcare: a spiritual approach’ programme. Recognising the need of such a programme to sustain and care for healthcare workers in Africa especially, they were approached by many carers in Southern Africa to conduct this second training.

The training programme will start on Thursday 23rd July at 9:00am and conclude on Sunday 26th July at 1pm. This training aims to develop the understanding and facilitation skills of those wishing to promote and facilitate the ‘Values in Healthcare: a spiritual approach’ programme. The programme will include some presentations but much of the time will be spent in small group work, giving participants an opportunity to directly experience and use the Values in Healthcare materials and activities. Please note that the programme will be conducted in English with considerable interactive group work.

For further information please contact Dr Raksha Balbadhur, Co-ordinator of the Values in Healthcare in South Africa, by email at valuesinhealthcare@telkomsa.net or fax 086 654 8692.

Social Media Survey

Dear All,

Hope you have had an enjoyable summer.

We are in the process of reviewing the Janki Foundation's social media content, which includes our website.

Studies have indicated that different healthcare professionals have variable use of social media platforms, and they will make recommendations to patients or colleagues based on their confidence and reliability of information. In the current climate of healthcare crisis and information overload, we would benefit from an understanding on how spirituality-related information is accessed by healthcare professionals. This will enable us to focus our messages, events and outreach.

We would greatly welcome your valuable thoughts through this survey. It is anonymous and will take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Thank you.

Best wishes,

JF Social Media Review Group
