Recent government reports have highlighted concerns about a lack of compassion in the NHS. Compassion is a quality that brings humanity to care and the question is how do we bring that quality into our working lives as health care practitioners. This workshop will be an opportunity to share some of the challenges we face in a safe and supportive environment and build on our own experience to enable us to become more compassionate practitioners.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Craig Brown, current Chairman of the British Holistic Medical Association, and recently retired general medical practitioner. Dr Brown is one of the authors of the educational programme Values in Healthcare: a spiritual approach, published by the Foundation, which incorporates a module on Compassion.
To register, please email events@jankifoundation.org by Wednesday 22nd February.
The event is free of charge. However, voluntary contributions are welcome. To secure a place for the workshop, a £10 refundable deposit is requested – please send cheque to the above address, made payable to ‘The Janki Foundation for Global Health Care’.
