This is an event supporting healthcare practitioners and will consist of discussions exploring the theme of spirituality in healthcare.

There are many legistlative and policy drivers directing healthcare professionals to the importance of taking into account spiritual aspects of their patients when delivering whole-person care. In spite of this, and also depsite the fact that many people say it is important component of their healing, it is often difficult for healthcare practitioners to find the time and opportunity to explore this aspect of treatment. Why is this? Does the healthcare system support such an exploration? Do healthcare practitioners feel ill-prepared and lacking in confidence to engage with this activity?

Speakers include Rev Gillian Munro, Head of Department of Spiritual care, NHS Tayside; Ian Govier, Development Manager for Nursing Leadership at the National Leadership and Innovation Agency for Healthcare; and Dr Sarah Eagger, Chair of the Special Interest Group (SIG) in Spirituality and Psychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. There will also be an address by Dadi Janki, President of The Janki Foundation for Global Health Care.

Social Media Survey

Dear All,

Hope you have had an enjoyable summer.

We are in the process of reviewing the Janki Foundation's social media content, which includes our website.

Studies have indicated that different healthcare professionals have variable use of social media platforms, and they will make recommendations to patients or colleagues based on their confidence and reliability of information. In the current climate of healthcare crisis and information overload, we would benefit from an understanding on how spirituality-related information is accessed by healthcare professionals. This will enable us to focus our messages, events and outreach.

We would greatly welcome your valuable thoughts through this survey. It is anonymous and will take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Thank you.

Best wishes,
