Dr Craig Brown was a full time National Health Service general practitioner in West Sussex, UK, for 30 years until his retirement in 2012. He has a longstanding interest in holistic medicine and was a former Chair of the British Holistic Medical Association (BHMA) for 3 years. He trained as a healer, and was President of the National Federation of Spiritual healers from 1997 – 2001. He is author of ‘Optimum Healing’, which outlines a practical spiritual approach for patients. He has extensive experience of facilitating workshops for a variety of health care practitioners at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
He was a member of the core group that designed the educational training pack Values in Healthcare: a spiritual approach, and has facilitated trainings in the UK and abroad. He is also the editor of ‘Lifting Your Spirits: seven tools for coping with illness’ and the ‘The Heart of Well-being – Seven tools for surviving and thriving’, published by the Janki Foundation and the BHMA in July 2008.
