Experiences of Modules
Values Module
Out of all the sessions, the meditation practices were the most appreciated and remembered.
Occupational Therapist, Vancouver, BC Canada
The presentation has helped me to strengthen my thinking that values are important and we should stand by them. It has started a thought process to see what value I am adding by being in a certain position.
This is a practical training programme, whose results touch on humanity, the happiness of another human being. Fully implemented, it has enormous positive value to healthcare delivery.
I found the sessions interesting. I enjoyed the chance to relax for a few moments while we were thinking about things. A refreshing change in the way things are put across.
Health Professionals from different discilplines, Wrexham, Wales, UK
Peace Module
I learnt how to listen more, to both my patients and colleagues, as well as recognize my abilities and limitations and be more realistic about the demands made on me.
Specialist Registrar – in psychiatry, Sussex, UK
I would highlight the relaxation and meditation aspects of the training as being particularly effective and useful. In my opinion the training met its stated aims greatly.
Consultant Psychiatrist, East Sussex, UK
… and I think this training will have a ripple effect on my team/service.
I enjoyed the day. I think you should feed back how good and humane the ideas of The Janki Foundation are. The guided meditations were most useful. I will try to be more peaceful.

Positivity Module
I found the training intelligent and well thought out.
Freelance Journalist, UK
It was great fun. Such a good atmosphere was created.
Minister, Association of Interfaith Ministries, Oxford, UK
I know that the training will improve my skills, particularly with patients in mental health.
NHS Interpreter, UK
I will practice regularly the positive cycle. Do a positive thinking session for myself at the end of the day. I really enjoyed it – going away feeling positive.
Chiropractor, Oxford, UK
Compassion Module
The session relaxed me a lot. Gave me time to think instead of just listening as we normally do. Made me remember my compassionate side, and brought back the times when nurses were compassionate towards me and how it helped me.
Student Nurse, Wrexham, Wales, UK
The session presented this way really made me feel, it was not just words.
Student Nurse
Enjoyable session. I found it good to think about compassion which I would not normally do. It is a useful tool to have as a nurse and in life and I am glad it was addressed within university lectures.
I have enjoyed the session, but found some tasks easier to complete than others
Student Nurses, Wrexham, Wales, UK
I liked the clarity and focus, the deep understanding of the concept and reflection on why it is so important to apply compassion and how to do so.
Psychologist, Dundee, Scotland, UK
Spirituality in Healthcare Module
….I feel that this is the area that is missing from nursing…
… Made me realize, and reminded me of why I wanted to become a nurse…
… The approach to lesson structure was very effective…
… I feel that (the sessions) have equipped me to deal with external stresses…
… The lessons gave me a different perspective of the care that is needed… that there is a need to provide support for the holistic nursing of our patients.
Student Nurses, Wrexham, UK
Valuing Yourself Module
I felt real appreciation for the effort and dedication of those people who have developed the pack in order that I, and hopefully thousands like me, can walk our talk, and made a difference to the world.
Provided a space to reflect, meditate and be silent.
Realizing that what I thought was religious in me was my spiritual self.
Loved the idea of ‘no time to sharpen my axe’
Enjoyed listening and learning from my partner of the day.
I have to be the change I want to see in the world.
Extremely positive and thought-provoking.
A good mix between formal and relaxing.
Student Nurses, Wrexham, Wales, UK
Co-operation Module
There was a very relaxing atmosphere that put everyone at ease …
Today I learnt to listen and observe more carefully ….
I loved the creative process
It all starts from within me!
My awareness has improved; I feel more focused and connected in myself. I realize I have missed this kind of focus in the last year…
I feel positive and will see what I can do to help improve communication.
