Building Resilience - Exploring ways to draw on our inner strength
Wed 06 Jan, 07:00pm - 08:30pm
Dadi Janki, President of The Janki Foundation will be interviewed by Dr Sarah Eagger MBBS, FRCPsych How do we build our resilience at a time when the stresses of modern living almost overwhelm us? How do we find the inner strength we need to face difficult situations, and what are the qualities that would help us when the going gets tough? Healthcare professionals particularly need to be resilient to deal with their demanding jobs and the suffering of others. There is a wealth of evidence to show that doctors and nurses suffer from burnout, depression and addiction problems. This affects their health and well being which influences the care they give to their patients. Dadi Janki, a world renowned spiritual leader, has worked for more than 70 years to acquire inner strength and resilience, achieving this by practising humility and giving to others in the face of adversity. Having faced several life-threatening illnesses, she is a practical example of how mental mastery releases enormous potential in our ability to create our own state of well-being as well as strengthen our capacity to uplift and serve others. At the age of 94, she continues to inspire millions! Dadi Janki is President of the Janki Foundation, and Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University. There is no charge for this event (voluntary contributions are welcome).

"All of the worry and fear on this planet is due to people not realising their purpose. If everyone were to address this, their highest destiny, indeed the highest destiny of humankind, could be fulfilled."
