The Janki Foundation Lecture & Book Launch - 'The Heart of Well-being'

As we go through life, the challengs and changes we meet can either help us move forward, or undermine our health and well-being.  In this presentation Jan Alcoe will introduce her new book The Heart of Well-being:  seven tools for surviving and thriving' co-published by The Janki Foundation and the British Holistic Medical Association.  She will outline ways not just to survive the knocks in life, but to positively thrive and enhance well-being on every level.

Jan Alcoe is a hypnotherapist, writer and trainer in holistic health and well-being.  She is a training and publishing adviser to the Janki Foundation an author of Lifting Your Spiritis: seven tools for coping with illness (JF, 2008), which she developed following treatment for cancer.  In The Heart of Well-being, her latest work, Jan continues to draw on the discoveries she has made during her own journey back to health.

There will also be an address by Dadi Janki, President of The Janki Foundation and Administrative Head of the Brahma Kumaris.  Through understanding and practicing spiritual truths, she has developed immense inner strength and even in her nineties is still fulfilling a global role. 

MC - Dr Craig Brown, GP and author of Optimum Healing (Rider, 1998), the editor of Lifting Your Spirits and The Heart of Well-being is Chair of the British Holistic Medical Association.  He is also a trustee of the Janki Foundation helping develop the Values in Healthcare training programme for healthcare professionals.

Guest artist:  Lou Beckerman is a community musician, singer-songwriter, healing arts practitioner and artist.  Combining music with healing she performs widely, records her music and facilitates inspiring workshops on the voice / well-being connection.
